Your dad went with a few of his friends on P-Day and hiked Arayat the volcano that sits in the middle of our mission. It was 100 degrees and 4 hours of steep jungle trail. Only 6 of the original 11 made it to the top. It was required they hire a guide who had on a pair of flip flops and a water bottle tied around his neck with a string. Thanks for not inviting mom! (Sorry the photos are reversed)

The original 11. The other white guy is President Ramos' brother-in-law from Washington D.C. a city dude who did not fair well. Notice the brand new hiking boots on the man on the left. He had bad blisters part way up and ended up hiking in a pair of flip flops. The customary head protection here is a t-shirt pulled over your head and face sticking out the head hole. Seems to work!
